All Cakes made by French Made are subject to the following terms and conditions. By placing an order the Buyer is accepting the Terms and Conditions as detailed on this page.

All our ingredients are of the highest quality. The cakes are made in premises in which nuts, milk or milk products, wheat, soy and other allergens are used, every effort is taken to keep ingredients separate however cakes may contain traces of nuts or nut oil. You agree to notify your guests of this risk and hold us harmless due any allergic reactions. Sponge cakes are made to be eaten on the day of the celebration and they are not suitable for freezing.

Consultations must be paid in advance, at least 4 days before the appointment. If not, the booking will be automatically cancelled.

We prefer three months notice on wedding cakes however we will accept short notice cakes subject to the availability of the date required. Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced by French Made as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo.

All price quotations, written or verbal, are valid for 30 days from the date of quotation.

If you have any queries or need to make any changes to an order please contact us immediately. We will let you know its effect on the price. Accepting any alterations is at the discretion of the Seller. Alterations requested less than 6 weeks before completion may be subject to a surcharge. It is the Buyer’s responsibility to check any quotes and invoices thoroughly before making payment. We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control compromise the quality of the finished product. e.g. weather conditions. The Buyer will be notified of any such changes and we will endeavour to keep any changes minimal.

We cannot be held liable for any damages to the cake or products we have delivered once we have delivered or delivered and set up the cake at the venue or delivery location. If the cake or products are collected from us, we cannot be held liable for any damages to the cake or products once they have left our premises. The collection vehicle should have a flat surface and be clean and tidy. This is the responsibility of the Buyer. The cake or products can be very fragile so we advise to drive very slowly and carefully and purchase non-slip matting.

Goods placed outside are liable to react to the temperature. Please note, we do not provide cake tables, tablecloths, cake stands or cutting knives. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to provide these or check with the venue to ensure these items are provided.

Our cakes may contain non-edible, such as plastic dowels in tiered cakes, wires and fresh flowers. These must be removed before serving or eating.

We require a 25% deposit on placement of order for all cakes, which is deducted from the final balance payable (1 month prior to the event). Deposits are non refundable. If an order is cancelled after it has been booked, we lose business from potential clients that were turned away to reserve your event date.

Any order cancellations 2 weeks prior to the event are not refundable. Any consultation bookings cancellations 4 days prior to the meeting are non refundable.

Please note, that if full payment of the wedding cake is not received 15 days prior to the delivery, collection and/or set-up date, it is assumed that the cake has been cancelled. The cancellation policy, therefore, applies in all cases.

Any refund given for disputes regarding a cake design or production of a design are completely at the discretion of French Made and are not automatic. We do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to the cake or items with the cake such as knives, decorations and stands, once the cake has been delivered to a venue or for loss, damage or non-delivery under unavoidable or exceptional circumstances. This in no way affects your statutory rights.

Your wedding cake will be delivered and set up before your guests arrive at the venue but an exact delivery time cannot be guaranteed. During high season, we have multiple weddings on the same day so we will be as flexible as possible but we must also accommodate everyone.

We usually supply flowers ourselves. However, when fresh flowers are supplied by your wedding florist, we will liaise with them to arrange handing over of the flowers. If the florist comes more 30 minutes after the agreed time, we do reserve the right to leave them to add the flowers on the cake themselves. The client also acknowledges that fresh flowers are not a food product and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt and other contaminants. You agree to check with your florist if your choice of flowers is safe to use on cakes.

From time to time our designs are published in national wedding cake magazines and other publications, we reserve the right to use any image of a cake made by French Made for publication at a later date.
